Comment

Far from fashion trends, sewn hand, Alfred Gratien champagne remained faithful to itself. For four generations, the Jaeger family established in Epernay, heads of cellars of fathers in son, watches over respect for the Alfred Gratien style. A know-how of more than a century, quality supplies, undergrowth work contributes to making our wines a large brand of champagnes. Classic crude is a assembly dominated by Chardonnay (46%) which offers lightness and freshness, while Pinot Meunier (30%) brings its fruity presence. Pinot Noir completes this assembly and brings a beautiful structure. This cuvée is vinified and raised in small 228 -liter oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation is not carried out in order to keep a lot of freshness and maximize childcare. The dosage is raw, of the order of 9G/L.

Tasting

The classic brut Alfred Gratien is dressed in a light yellow dress constelled with fine and fast bubbles. Its nose reveals complex notes of cookies, pastries and white fruits, which then evolve towards aromas of citrus, white flowers and fresh butter. On the palate, the classic crude brut offers a frank attack, then unrolls chalky, mineral notes, with beautiful lightness. The finish is clear, with a good length. It is an ideal cuvée for a dinner aperitif, especially with small salty or sweet ovens.
