Comment

The Château Rieussec vineyard extends to the junction of Fargues and Sauternes, contiguous to Château d’Yquem. Rieussec is one of the most important properties in Sauternes and Barsac, the vines cover 93 ha of sandy-clay gravel soil. Fermentations are carried out in barrels. Each sort coming from a well-identified plot is isolated in a batch of barrels to assess its capacity to enter or not into the great wine after the end of fermentation. Several tastings of each barrel are carried out for a strict selection of the great wine. The name Carmes de Rieussec refers to the monks of the Carmes de Langon, owners of the Rieussec estate in the 18th century.

Tasting

The second wine of Château Rieussec is selected from the same bases as the great wine. Its permanent characteristic is a beautiful aromatic amplitude with a dominant citrus palette. Expressive fruit, charm at the beginning. Good finale.
