Comment

Château Baret has its origins in the 4th century. The property located on the Pessac-Léognan appellation belongs for several generations to the lords of Baret, a family of merchants and shipowners. Ballande acquired the domain in 1867. Following a fire at the beginning of the 20th century, the work of enlarging the Chartreuse was carried out, supplemented by significant restructuring both in the vineyard and on the chai. One of the few intramural vineyards, a vestige of the first Bordeaux vineyards of the Gallo-Roman era, it extends over an area of 25.80 hectares east of Bordeaux. Aged 25 years old on average, the vines are located on Garonnais and clay-limestone gravel, guaranteeing ideal drainage and deep rooting.

Tasting

A dark and dense dress. A fairly voluminous and elegant attack on the black cherry. Middle of the mouth marked by the finesse of tannins and a slight toasted wood. Quite long finish on the candied projector.
