Comment

Built on the site of a Roman villa, then seat of a lordship from the 11th to the 12th century, Château Carignan was built in 1452 by Jean Poton de Xaintrailles, comrade-in-arms of Joan of Arc. He was victorious in the Battle of Castillon against Constable Talbot in 1453. This battle ended the Hundred Years' War and made it possible to attach Aquitaine to the Kingdom of France. The 150 hectare estate, including 65 hectares of vines, has been the property of Andy Lench since 2007. "Clay-limestone hillsides covered with stony gravel. Temperate oceanic climate which, combined with the proximity of the Garonne river, provides a favorable balance for the cultivation of our vines. Anxious to integrate a sustainable agriculture approach, we ensure for Most of our plots are fertilized with natural organic matter and we have our own wine effluent treatment station."

Tasting

Natural wine where brightness and freshness dominate. Dressed in a pretty garnet color, this wine will seduce with its nose with aromas of red and black berries. A supple mouth, round tannins coated in a fruity flesh full of sweetness.
