Comment

The Cuvelier family, owner of Clos Fourtet (1st Grand Cru Classé in Saint-Emilion) and Château Poujeaux (AOC Moulis en Médoc), acquired two great classified vintages located in the heart of Saint-Emilion: the large walls (2 ha which adjoin Clos Fourtet) and Côte de Baleau (18 ha including 15 ha classified). She also took a participation in Clos Saint-Martin (1.3 ha) including Sophie Fourcade (ex-director and co-owner of the 3 domains) remains the majority shareholder. Discreet raw but of a significant dimension, Côte de Baleau is located on the plateau, between clay-limestone and clay-sablonneuse zones.

Tasting

Of a beautiful regularity, without trying to reach peaks of intensity, it quickly develops a typical, complete, expressive character. Subtile expression of raspberry and black cherry, tinged with floral notes, delicate and fresh tannins ... A charming wine from its first years of bottle but also fit for custody.
