Comment

This hilly region bordered by the Gironde estuary has a particular charm. Their beautiful color and aromas of red fruits make Côtes de Bourg wines unique, capable of long aging. The 10 hectares of the Haute-Libarde estate which rest on clay-limestone soil in Bourg Sur Gironde are the pride of Mr. Denis Levraud. Vinification according to Bordeaux tradition with natural alcoholic fermentation, temperature control, long vatting (18 days), 2 pumping overs per day throughout fermentation. These steps allow maximum fruit quality to be extracted: color, aromas and structure. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, a third of which is new wood for 12 months.

Tasting

To the eye, the Château de la Haute Libarde shows a beautiful brilliant red color. Its intense nose presents aromas of red fruits to which are added toasted and vanilla notes. Its attack is frank and its tannins are very present. This well-structured wine offers a silky finish.
