Comment

The Château des Hauts de Foncaude belongs to a young couple, Sandra and Roch Mayé, young farmers aged 33 and 35 who live in Saint Félix de Foncaude. They are at the head of a 100 ha farm, 38 ha including vineyards and 40 bazadais breastfeeding cattle. Installed for fifteen years in SCEA (civil society of agricultural exploitation), the couple has chosen to replace their dairy cows with meat cows, due to the less restrictive character and therefore more compatible with the cultivation of the vine. The vineyard was also doubled in a few years. Their vineyard flourishes in the heart of a clay-sable silt which gives wine all its elegance.

Tasting

The deep robe of an intense ruby ​​red announces a wine that has reached its full maturity, testifying to the refined and successful character of this 2014 vintage. The nose radiates by its intensity and its aromatic wealth. It is a frank and mature nose resting on black fruit spikes (Bigarreau cherry) and a slight note of blond tobacco all in discretion. The mouth offers enveloping tannins, we find with pleasure black fruits. The finish is persistent and clear. Excellent tasting!
