Comment

The history of the Bardet vineyards begins in 1704, on the banks of the Garonne, in the Parish of St-Brice de Vignonet, south of Saint-Emilion. A wine and grain trader, Mr. Seigneriau sails the peaceful waters of the Garonne, Gironde and Dordogne to load his barge with barrels of wine, which he then resells in merchant ports. The port of Vignonet becomes a mecca for the wine trade and an essential passage to the port of Bordeaux. While maritime trade prospered, the Seigneriau family invested in vines. However, the arrival of the steam engine and the railways at the end of the 19th century disrupted river trade and brought about the end of the ferryman activity. The Signeriau family decides to devote themselves to their passion: the cultivation of vines...

Tasting

Dark and shiny purple color. Fine and open nose, evoking black fruits and roasted almonds. When agitated, a delicate register of smoky and burnt nuances emerges, enhanced with marzipan. Frank and powerful attack, declaiming black fruits, whispering spices (pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon). Balanced and generous; the finish is elegant and persistent.
