Comment

A wine by Christian Sanguigne, winemaker harvesting in Bourg. Vines around fifteen years old on clay-limestone soils. The Bourg vineyard is located on the right bank of the Gironde estuary, some 35 km north of Bordeaux. The mass of water from the river softens the very sunny microclimate of the hillsides. The soils are mainly clay-limestone. They rest on layers of porous stones which provide good natural drainage. Balanced, elegant, very attractive, the red wines of Côtes de Bourg are generous, full-bodied, aromatic and have a tannic structure which makes them particularly suitable for aging.

Tasting

Sustained garnet color with purple reflections. Generous nose of ripe black fruits with fine liquorice notes. Full, supple and melted palate with aromas of cherry and damson. Smooth and well-balanced finish. It goes well with cold meats, grilled red and white meats, grilled fish, game, cheeses and desserts. Serve between 16° and 18°C.
