Terroir du Plateau adjoining the first Crus Clos Fourtet and Beautiful Bedroom, Grand-Pontet was taken over by Poutquet and Bécot families in 1980. A little lower and a little more clay than its prestigious neighbors, the vintage is capable of great things in the big vintages. Mineral vigor is always underlying the intensity of the fruit; It is expressed with distinction but it takes a few years for wine to take off. It is a Saint-Emilion for connoisseurs, for lovers of the limestone set. With the help of director Pascal Lucin, the family for Berk signed with 2015 and 2016 the most beautiful double in the history of the vintage, culmination of increased attention paid to detail, to the vine as in the chai.

Tasting

A note of truffle appears, scents of ripe fruit and flowers, a delicate and tender woody, harmony is born from its freshness. 2016 is even better: the breeding marks wine, built to last, of its toasted notes. The large terroir of the tray requires almost saline sapidity.
