Comment

The history of Vignobles Cardarelli, founded in 1949 by Caterina and Gino Cardarelli, is a strong family history now in its 4th generation. Gino, born in 1903, left Italy to work in France at the age of 13, first in a steel factory. After 24 years of sharecropping, he became a winegrower in Gironde. When he died at age 58, his son Louis, aged 25, took over a small farm with a 12-hectare vineyard, accompanied by his wife Rosine, who inherited 5 hectares of vines from his parents, Joseph and Congetine. Vazzoli. In 1991, they passed the torch to their three sons, assisted by their wives in key positions, and together they gradually expanded the vineyard to more than 550 hectares. In 2010, they created a grape harvester bringing together 500 hectares of vines worked by 40 partner winegrowers. At the same time, the company is committed to respecting the environment, certifying all its châteaux as “High Environmental Values”, and modernizing its bottling line to IFS standards. Currently, 45% of the wines from the harvest are also HVE certified, with the objective of reaching 100% in 2022.
