Comment

In 1990, Philibert Perrin acquired, near the Château Carbonnieux, part of the land that belonged to the 18th century to Charles de Secondat, Baron de Montesquieu, famous philosopher and winemaker. He undertakes a deforestation program and finds an former abandoned wash house: the Fountain of Menaut, it is she who is at the origin of the name of the castle Lafont Menaut. In Martillac 15km from Bordeaux, in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, Philibert Perrin replanted over the years 15 ha in red grape variety (Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) and 3.5 ha in white grape (Sauvignon) in order to revive this ancestral vineyard that fell in disuse. Culture at Château Lafont Menaut is reasoned and the vines which are used to produce red wine are about 15 years old.

Tasting

Dressed in a brilliant dark garnet dress, this elegant wine is a little discreet in its aromatic evocations: wood still dominates the fruits. But at the palace, it presents a round and well -balanced material, with pretty tannins and a finish full of freshness.
