Comment

The presence of the Dupuys on the lands of Puisseguin dates back to the Middle Ages. Gérard, an oenology graduate, took over this estate in 1995, acquired by his family in 1864 and managed without chemical treatments since 1947. Located in the heart of the village of Puisseguin, the vines of Château Vieux Moulin Noir occupy an area of 19 hectares on the famous clay-limestone plateau of Saint-Emilion. In the center stands the 19th century Chartreuse, the cut stone walls allow its cellar to offer optimal conditions for the aging of a wine of excellence, a constant temperature around 13°C. This wine symbolizes respect for the terroir and traditional winemaking methods: the yeasts are indigenous and the vinification takes place without added products as required by the specifications of Organic Agriculture.

Tasting

Sustained and clear purple color. Rich and expressive nose, delicately spicy and woody with fruity notes of cherry and blackcurrant liqueur. Round and supple on the palate with spicy aromas with grilled and smoky notes. Superb wine, powerful and full-bodied, aromatic and tannic to rediscover for very beautiful moments in three or four years.
