Comment

Barreau-la-Grave was created by Patrick Pouvreau, a picking up biological wine-growing producer in 1985, the date of conversion to organic farming of the three and a half hectares of origin. Today 8.5 hectares are cultivated, including 5 hectares gradually made up since 1989 by purchases of neighboring plots. The vines have an average age of 20 years, the density varies from 4,500 to 6000 feet per hectare, and the yields are around 50 hl/ha. The fragmentation of plots in three municipalities offers a good diversity of soils: silt, gravelly, or sablo siblors. The presence of fossilized wood whose age is counted in hundreds of millions of years encourages compliance with this terroir, and in search of the expression of its particularities.

Tasting

A deep and soft color, a flattering nose, a floral note developing aromas of cherry. An extensive, round and very loose mouth socket, with beautiful flexible tannins characteristic of the vintage.
