For N°1 Rouge, remarkable work is being carried out in the Bordeaux vineyards to identify the areas most conducive to complete maturity of the Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon grape varieties. A real partnership with winegrowers guarantees optimal and consistent fruit quality. From the cultivation of the vines to the harvest, the winegrowers work closely with the Dourthe oenologists. The best batches of N°1 Rouge benefit from 12 months of aging in new French oak barrels, during which the tannins of the wood blend harmoniously with those of the wine, bringing roundness and harmony. The aromatic complexity is enhanced by additional aging of a few batches in small 80 hl wooden vats.

Tasting

Deep dark ruby ​​red color. The nose is complex, combining aromas of ripe fruits such as morello cherry, fig, with toasted touches. The attack is round, followed by a remarkably elegant mid-palate, with tannins present on the finish but perfectly integrated, without excess. It is a classic model for a vintage, which while being warm, does not lack tension.
