Comment

Plant of Greek origin, the Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains grape variety (known as Muscat de Frontignan) would have been brought to Narbonne Gaul by the Romans under the name of Apiena Uva "that is to say grape which attracts bees". Its culture clearly appears in the archives during the Middle Ages. From the 16th century, the cultivation of Muscat de Frontignan developed widely in the commune and took advantage of the dynamism of the ports of Sète and that of Bordeaux (where Muscat transits via the Canal du Midi) to be exported to the countries in northern Europe. Thus the Flatter brothers, Swiss doctors visiting Languedoc in 1559, relate: "Frontignan is a small town located on the edge of the Etang de Thau... It is in the suburbs of this locality that the famous Muscat, known all over the world."

Tasting

The nose, very elegant and fresh, plays on notes of white and exotic fruits as well as flowers. The mouth is full and very aromatic, lacking neither roundness nor freshness for a well-balanced finish with lemony and menthol touches. This gourmet set is a natural aperitif. It goes well with seafood and grilled fish and goes perfectly with oriental cuisine (tagines, couscous, etc.).
