Comment

Jacques Boyd was squire in the order of nobility. In 1754 he bought Boyd Cantenac, a property which today strong of his 28 hectares belongs to the family of the great classified crus of the MĂ©doc. If Boyd Cantenac returns to the front of the stage, it is because Lucien Guillemet applies his vinification principles there, where balance is the only quality vector. The best synergy for its wines requires complexity, power and elegance. The most interventionist phase for him is assembly: a crucial moment when nothing is left to chance, it is not a question of making half measures. Given the magnificent last harvests and the potential of the vintage put on its thirty -one, the second wine Jacques Boyd, named after the founder of the estate, is thought as the first.

Tasting

He sports a sustained and shiny purple dress. The nose is open, very finesse, combining the roasted and smoked register with the caster and cocoa. From the attack, an elegant class stands out: the toasted and toasted notes in finesse a mature and spicy red fruit, to compose a wine that is both round and powerful. Long and delicious final on a grilled hazelnut note. A harmonious margaux that will perfectly accompany red meats, and all other meats without too much spices to make room for the gluttony of this wine.
