Comment

Initiated in the 1950s by René Poitevin, in parallel with the bakery and other agricultural activities, this small family property of 2 hectares in AOC Médoc has gradually developed. Like his father, Georges took the residue of the exploitation and cultivated the vines with passion, then entrusted his harvest to the local cooperative cellar. Helped by his wife Natacha, his small team of winegrowers involved, and his oenologist Antoine Medeville, he applies to gaining notoriety at the national and international level thanks to monitoring, regularity in work and impeccable quality. True to the style of the Médoc wines, Lamothe Pontac is raised in oak barrels, but without the use of new wood so that the aromas of the grapes prevail.

Tasting

Tender and gullying, this rather little tannic wine with a fairly "feminine" style, exhales notes of red berries and appreciates in its youth. The Lamothe Pontac cuvée is a wine from the fruity medoc, very aromatic and all in freshness. He will be the perfect companion for a duck breast, or a "seven o'clock lamb", but his less tannic typicity will allow him to be appreciated with lighter dishes, such as asparagus, the barbecue of white meats and compound salads. For cheese, we will appreciate it for example with the county, the chaource or the bridge-the bishop.
