Comment

Located on the Médoc peninsula 60 km north of Bordeaux, the Châtellenie de Vertheuil vineyard is part of the prestigious Haut-Médoc appellation. Retarting from the Gironde, this town has a terroir made up of gravel-sable alluviums transported and deposited with the Pliocene by sands coming from the Pyrenees and the Massif Central. All of these conditions allow the main grape varieties of the appellation (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc) to give all the fullness of their potential. The vineyard of the commune of Vertheuil extends over an area of 400 hectares. Ruby color wines are defined by a flexible character, with a pretty fruity with flexible and charming tannins. In Vertheuil, we must visit the abbey founded in the 11th century and the Saint Peter church (11th and 12th century) which constitutes a fine example of Romanesque art.

Tasting

On the palate the Châtelain de Vertheuil is a powerful wine with a good balance between acidity and tannins.
