Comment

According to legend, in 1317, Pope John XXII, whose health was fragile, tasted a Valréas wine during a stage on the way in Avignon. He was very ragailled and concluded that this wine was miraculous. Also, to dispose of it at his convenience, he bought the city of Valréas then the neighboring villages of Richerenches, Visan and Grillon. The enclave was born! During the creation of the French departments, the inhabitants of the four cities chose by a referendum to remain attached to the Vaucluse, thus perpetuating the enclave which still exists today within the Department of Drôme. To the legendary particularity is added the geographic originality: it is the most northern vineyard of the Côtes du Rhône southern with an altitude greater than the average. The soils are the majority of pebble clay-limestone and benefit from a Provençal climate at fresh nights, very sunny and purified by the Mistral. Limited on the 3 sides by the first foothills of the South Pre -Alps, this terroir opens to the west on the Rhône valley.

Ruby red shade dress. From ripe red fruit scents to blackcurrant notes and with a touch of spices. An elegant structure with flexible tannins and a harmonious and expressive final.
