Comment

Château Batailley, 5th Grand Cru Classé in 1855, is one of the jewels of the Castéja family and Borie-Manoux. The name of this property comes from the word Battle which took place in 1453 on the vineyards and the Château during the Hundred Years' War. During this war marking the end of British rule in Aquitaine, the French reconquered Château Latour which was occupied by the English. In the 17th century, vines were planted on these lands rich in history. The Château park was designed in the 19th century by Barillet-Deschamps, landscaper to Napoleon III.

Tasting

The color is garnet and the nose is nicely spicy. The palate is fresh and elegant, beautiful notes of liquorice and leather, half-bodied, nicely constituted. Spicy finish. Great success.
