Château Blissa commands an estate of 12 hectares, including 10 of vines in one piece, magnificently located on a south-facing hillside with a clear view as far as Bordeaux. A historic estate whose existence dates back to 1640, as evidenced by the coat of arms engraved in one of the stones of the castle, and a family estate since 1950, it is today managed by Stéphane Destrade. After starting his career in finance in London, Stéphane Destrade chose to return to family property which he has completely renovated and restructured since 2009. Stéphane Destrade practices sustainable cultivation based on careful observation of the vines. Double guyot pruning, plowing, grassing every other row, cavaillonnage and decavaillonnage, manual de-stemming and leaf-pulling, then green harvest at the closing of the bunches depending on the vintage, are his viticultural choices. Only organic fertilizers are used. Side vinification: the manually harvested grapes are sorted upon entering the cellar on a vibrating table, crushed at the top of the vats, and vinified in thermo-regulated concrete vats.

Tasting

Deep dress. Fruity nose. Frank attack with a touch of acidity, followed by a beautiful roundness, persistent notes of red fruits and a good length. A very accessible wine, perfect to accompany a meal.
