Comment

Located on the Médoc peninsula 60 km north of Bordeaux, the Châtellenie de Vertheuil vineyard is part of the prestigious Haut-Médoc appellation. Set back from the Gironde, this commune has a terroir made up of gravelly-sandy alluvium transported and deposited in the Pliocene by sands coming from the Pyrenees and the Massif Central. All of these conditions allow the main grape varieties of the appellation (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc) to achieve their full potential. The vineyard of the commune of Vertheuil extends over an area of 400 hectares. Ruby-colored wines are defined by a supple character, endowed with a lovely fruitiness with supple and charming tannins. In Vertheuil, you should visit the Abbey founded in the 11th century and the Saint Pierre church (11th and 12th centuries) which constitutes a fine example of Romanesque art.

Tasting

This wine has a beautiful ruby color. On the nose, it exudes toasted and woody notes. On the palate, the attack is frank and fresh, a wine with a lot of substance, power and length with some vanilla notes at the end of tasting. Wine with an interesting tannin structure.
