Comment

Grand Oustau means big house in Occitan. Le Grand Housteau is an old fortified house from the 16th century, which became, in 1566, the hunting lodge of the Duke of Epernon, who, as governor of Guyenne (today Aquitaine), had the Château de Cadillac built. The vineyard is located on the right bank of the Garonne on the southwest slope of Saint-Germain-de-Graves, in the Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux region, between the famous Châteaux. The vineyard covers an area of 30 hectares. The unique location of the vineyard and the climatic conditions in which it grows make it possible to produce 200,000 bottles of wine per year.

Tasting

Intense dark red color. Vanilla, tangy and spicy nose. The aroma contains notes of blackcurrant, blackberries. Intense taste and long aftertaste with fine and delicate tannins. It goes well with grilled red meat, hard cheeses and porcini mushrooms.
