Château Des Hauts de Foncaude belongs to a young couple, Sandra and Roch Mayé, young farmers aged 33 and 35 who live in Saint Félix de Foncaude. They are at the head of a 100 ha farm, including 38 ha in vines and 40 Bazadais suckler cattle. Established for around fifteen years in SCEA (Société Civile d'Exploitation Agricole), the couple chose to replace their dairy cows with beef cows, due to the less restrictive nature and therefore more compatible with the culture of vine. The surface area under vines has also been doubled in a few years. Their vineyard flourishes in the heart of a clayey-sandy loam terroir which gives the wine all its elegance.

Tasting

The deep, intense ruby ​​red color announces a wine that has reached its full maturity, testifying to the refined and accomplished character of this 2014 vintage. The nose shines with its intensity and aromatic richness. It is a frank and mature nose based on hints of black fruits (bigarreau cherry) and a slight, discreet note of blond tobacco. The palate offers enveloping tannins, and we are pleased to find black fruits. The finish is persistent and clean. Excellent tasting!
