Comment

Barreau-La-Grave was created by Patrick Pouvreau, an organic wine grower, in 1985, the date of the conversion to organic farming of the original three and a half hectares. Today 8.5 hectares are cultivated, including 5 hectares gradually built up since 1989 by purchases of neighboring plots. The vines have an average age of 20 years, the density varies from 4500 to 6000 vines per hectare, and the yields are around 50 hl/ha. The division of plots into three communes offers a great diversity of soils: loamy clay, gravelly, or loamy sand. The presence of fossilized wood whose age is measured in hundreds of millions of years encourages respect for this terroir, and the search for the expression of its particularities.

Tasting

A deep and soft color, a flattering nose, a floral note developing cherry aromas. A full, round and very ample mouthfeel, with beautiful supple tannins characteristic of the vintage.
