It is on the borders of the South-West, in the Gers department, that this story begins. In the former Convent of Maumusson-Laguian, clinging since the 18th century to the limestone rock of an old quarry, stands the Domaine Capmartin. On either side of the imposing building, rich soils are revealed, revealing great wines. The story of Domaine Capmartin began in 1985, when Guy Capmartin decided to leave the family estate to create his own domain. In 1987, Domaine Capmartin's first vintage was born: “Tradition”. Step by step, the estate is expanding and its reputation is growing, making the Couvent de Maumusson today an unmissable meeting place for lovers of authentic Madiran and Pacherenc. At the beginning of the 2000s, keen to increase the quality of his wines, Guy Capmartin became interested in healthier agriculture, in the desire for a better balance with his environment. He finds new inspiration with farming methods from Organic Agriculture and Biodynamics. After several years of work with personal conviction, in 2010 he decided to have his work recognized and requested the “AB” label in order to certify his production and promote his wines and cereal crops. With the 2013 Vintage, the Domaine signs its first vintage certified in organic farming, to the delight of its customers!

Tasting

Wine with an intense color on a bluish black background with a carmine and purple gradient. The nose above all expresses delicacy with aromas of macerated black fruits, blueberry, elderberry, red plum and some spices upon aeration. A little freshness with a note of liquorice after a few moments. The mouth is the mirror of the nose with a fruity and spicy substance. A gourmet wine, fleshy, sapid, with character but already pleasant to taste today.
