Comment

Jacques Boyd was a squire in the order of the nobility. In 1754 he bought Boyd Cantenac, a property which today with its 28 hectares belongs to the family of Grands Crus Classés du Médoc. If Boyd Cantenac returns to the forefront, it is because Lucien Guillemet applies his principles of winemaking, where balance is the only vector of quality. The best synergy for its wines comes through complexity, power and elegance. The most interventionist phase for him is assembly: a crucial moment where nothing is left to chance, it is not a question of taking half measures. Taking into account the magnificent recent harvests and the potential of the vintage, the second Jacques Boyd wine, named after the founder of the estate, is designed just like the first.

Tasting

It sports a deep and brilliant purple color. The nose is open, of great finesse, combining roasted and smoked notes with morello cherry and cocoa. From the attack, an elegant class is distinguished: the grilled and toasted notes complement with finesse a ripe and spicy red fruit, to compose a wine that is both round and powerful. Long and delicious finish with a note of toasted hazelnut. A harmonious Margaux which will go wonderfully with red meats, and all other meats without too much spice to leave room for the deliciousness of this wine.
