Comment

Founded in 1776 in Reims, Louis Roederer is an independent family business chaired by Frédéric Rouzaud. Heir to the House of Champagne in 1833, Louis Roederer took the visionary step of enriching his vineyard to control all stages of wine production. He thus forges a unique style, spirit and taste. In the middle of the 19th century, by acquiring vines chosen with instinct and eclecticism from the lands of the great wines of Champagne, Louis Roederer acted against the customs and habits of his time. While others buy grapes, Louis Roederer cherishes the vineyard, deciphers the character of each plot and methodically acquires the best. With the idea that a great wine finds its source in the earth, with a love of tradition and a passion for the future, Louis Roederer is charting an exceptional destiny for the House which will now bear his name.

Tasting

Bright gold color, shimmering reflections, fine and dynamic bubbles. Ample and fresh bouquet, mixture of yellow fruits (mirabelle plum) from Pinot noir and sweet citrus fruits (lemon tart), with notes of white flowers (jasmine) from Chardonnay, followed by notes of subtle autolysis with touches of smoked and toasted pastries. Dense, deep, rich and structured palate, balanced by a saline freshness and a touch of bitterness. Powerful, rich and balanced by the limestone freshness and density of the Chardonnays.
